(Press release) Sustainable tableware brand Mimo Homeware officially launched

Artisanal Portuguese ceramics make every meal a special moment
Amsterdam, August 6, 2025 – Mimo Homeware, the sustainable Portuguese dinnerware brand, officially launched today. The startup's artisanal ceramic bowls, dishes, and plates are hand-finished in small batches in Portugal and are suitable for intensive daily use, both in professional kitchens and at home. Mimo Homeware is available online, as well as in-store at Resprésentable in Amsterdam and the Loods 5 branches in Amersfoort and Zaanstad.
Mimo Homeware was founded by partners Sacha Grafov (30) and Bram Zeldenrijk (30). The idea for the company arose when they visited a local ceramics shop almost two years ago during a tour of Portugal. Grafov: “Bram and I both have a background in hospitality and love hosting dinner parties and cooking delicious food. When we saw all those beautiful ceramic products, we were immediately inspired. We started making plans for our own tableware line on our return flight. In the months that followed, we gradually built up Mimo Homeware alongside our corporate careers. Weekends and evenings: at a certain point, almost all of our free time was dedicated to Mimo. That was the moment for us to say goodbye to our permanent jobs and fully commit ourselves to entrepreneurship.”
Restaurant feeling
In addition to individual bowls, dishes, pasta, breakfast, and dinner plates, Mimo Homeware's range includes complete four-, five-, and/or six-piece dinnerware sets in Broken Shells, Dreamy Ivory, Ocean Breeze, On the Rocks, Midnight Blue, and Starry Night—or a combination thereof. All ceramics are dishwasher- and microwave-safe and made of natural materials, matte, and with a luxurious look, making them perfect for a well-maintained interior. Well-known customers of this tableware line include Restaurant Badhuis in Amsterdam and Boutique Hotel Pillows. Earlier this month, Mimo Homeware also launched its own line of stackable coffee cups in the Japandi style, following an extensive design and sampling period of almost twelve months. Zeldenrijk: "Beautiful tableware is the foundation of a good dinner. With our plates, you can instantly bring that restaurant feeling into your home. Whether you're hosting a special dinner with beautifully set tables or want to add that extra touch of flair to your weeknight meal. As we always say: you eat half the meal with your eyes."
Future plans
For now, Mimo Homeware is primarily targeting Dutch food and cooking enthusiasts. The company doesn't discriminate between hospitality businesses, avid home cooks, and lovers of quality tableware. Grafov: "We're seeing more and more Dutch people enjoying elaborate cooking for guests. They're spending more time not only preparing the meal, but also serving it." However, the growth ambitions don't stop at national borders. "Ultimately, we want to scale internationally. Germany and Belgium are the most logical countries, but we're not ruling anything out. The most important condition is that we can continue to meet demand while simultaneously guaranteeing our quality. After all, it is and will always be a handmade product."
